  • Building inspections are completed as requested by contractors and owners. Inspections may be scheduled at the phone number above.

The City of Florence offers incentives for new industrial buildings. The incentives can be found in the Florence Municipal Code and are as follows: "water main rebate agreements for mainline extensions within the city limits" found at 13.04.085.

Electrical and Plumbing permits and inspections are issued and scheduled by the State of Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA).View DORA website for contact information:

Contractor Licensing

For a contractor license through the City of Florence, payment and proof of liability insurance (minimums below) are required. On the Certificate of Liability, the City of Florence must be listed as the Certificate Holder.


Limited: $50 licensing cost per calendar year. Minimum coverage: $300,000 each occurrence, $1,000,000 aggregate; automobile liability $100,000 each accident.
General: $100 licensing cost per calendar year. Minimum coverage: $1,000,000 each occurrence, $2,000,000 aggregate; automobile liability $100,000,000 each accident.

Licenses are valid through December 31 of the year of issuance.

Copies of insurance may be mailed to City Hall with a check for the aforementioned amount, or you can pay online and complete the online Contractor License Form.

Insurance will NOT be kept on file without license payment, so be sure to provide both on the same day to prevent delay in receiving your license.
