The City of Florence will be distributing CARES Relief Act funds to citizens and businesses impacted by COVID-19 and the associated restrictions. The program was approved by City Council on September 21, 2020.

The grant application window has closed and staff are contacting individuals who have been awarded funding. Please contact Wade Broadhead at 719-371-5914 with any questions.
The City of Florence is pleased to announce that it will be offering COVID-19 Emergency Housing Assistance!
These funds will assist Florence citizens facing housing insecurity as a result of COVID-19.
  • Grant applications are due Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 5:00 p.m.
  • The maximum funding that may be awarded per household is $1,000.
  • Grants will be awarded on a first come first serve basis.
  • Grants are dependent on available resources. No applicants are guaranteed funding.
  • Applicants will only be considered eligible if they reside inside the city limits of Florence, Colorado, and are applying for a property located inside the city limits of Florence, Colorado.
  • Applicants must be able to document impacts from COVID-19 to City Staff.

The City of Florence is pleased to announce an opportunity for citizens to apply for mortgage/rent assistance for households that have been economically impacted by COVID-19. The grant applications will be available at City Hall, 600 W 3rd Street, and on the City of Florence website. Applications will be accepted through December 22, 2020 at 5:00 pm. Interested citizens and businesses are encouraged to contact Wade Broadhead by phone at 719-371-5914 or email at wade@florencecolorado.org for more details.  Any information provided for the grants may become publicly available, so please consider this when applying.  Expenses must be directly related to the impact of COVID-19.

Eligible costs include:

  • Rent or mortgage from March 2020 to December 1, 2020

Applications may be emailed to wade@florencecolorado.org or dropped off at Florence City Hall between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm Monday through Friday.
