The City of Florence will be distributing CARES Relief Act funds to citizens and businesses impacted by COVID-19 and the associated restrictions. The program was approved by City Council on September 21, 2020.

We are excited to announce a second and final round of COVID-19 Economic Relief Grants!
The City of Florence is opening a second and last grant round to assist local businesses that have been impacted by COVID-19.
  • Grants are due December 10, 2020 at 5:00 p.m.
  • Grant awards are based on the number of employees.

  • Grants are dependent on available resources. No applicants are guaranteed funding.
  • Applicants must be able to document impacts from COVID-19 to City Staff

City of Florence COVID-19 Economic Assistance Program

The City of Florence is pleased to announce a second and final relief grant program to help Florence businesses who have been economically impacted by COVID-19.  The grant applications will be available at City Hall, 600 W 3rd Street. Applications will be accepted through December 10, 2020 by 5:00 pm. Interested citizens and businesses are encouraged to contact Wade Broadhead by phone at 719-371-5914 or email at for more details.  Any information provided for the grants may become publicly available so please consider this when applying.  Expenses must be directly related to impact from COVID 19 or the required shutdowns and business hour reduction, eligible costs include:

  • Lease, rent, or mortgage from March, 2020 to December 1, 2020
  • Utility bills from March, 2020 to December 1, 2020
  • Proof of projected lost revenue due to closure or restrictions
  • Products or services purchased to stay open due to public health restrictions

Applications may be emailed to or dropped off at Florence City Hall between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm Monday through Friday.
