City Clerk - Cortlyne Huppe

City Clerk

City Services

Dear Florence Merchant,

The City of Florence no longer requires local businesses to obtain a City issued business license each year. The SB 22-0322, passed during the 2022 legislative session, imposes restriction on municipalities in relation to business licenses.

β€œOn and after July 1, 2022, a local taxing jurisdiction is prohibited from charging a fee for a local general business license to a retailer that has a state standard retail license, makes retail sales within the local taxing jurisdiction, and either does not have physical presence within the local taxing jurisdiction or has only incidental physical presence within the local taxing jurisdiction.”

Moving forward, please do not submit paperwork, or the annual fee to the City of Florence for the annual business licenses.
